The Place

Spirit^Wolf's Dream

For years I've had many different types of dreams.
Some were brought about by eating to much too late.
Others were a result of something I watched before going to bed or during the day.
However, there are certain dreams that I know for a fact mean something.
Several of these dreams have shown me of things to come involving friends and loved ones.

One morning, I awoke at 4:00 a.m.
After getting a drink and going directly back to bed,
I quickly fell back to sleep as my head hit the pillow.
Immediately it seemed I went into one of my "for real dreams".

I was walking down a path in a wooded area;
the air filled with the scent of rain.
As I gazed at the beautiful landscape, many visions of beauty filled my eyes.
I stood in awe of the colors, having never seen so many different shades of green.
The canopy of trees seemed to reach to the sky.
Though the place was flooded with light, the sun and sky were barely visible.

Trees, stumps, moss covered rocks, and small vegetation littered the suroundings.
"Beautiful!", I thought to myself.

Never before had I dreamt to this degree.
I could feel the warmth and the moisture in the air.

As I walked, a lady came towards me.
Her hair was black as a ravens; her skin the color of almonds.
Dressed in a white ceremonial dress decorated with sapphires,
she spoke as she approached me, yet her mouth never opened or moved.
She indicated for me to follow her so she could show me something.
Following her down the path to a point that she sat down on a tree stump,
puzzled, I asked her what she wanted me to see.

She motioned for me to look behind and as I did I saw another strange site.
There were many men walking into a doorway obscured by growth.
As they walked, they had baskets on their heads filled with something I could not see.
Another line of men came out, but the baskets they carried were empty.

When I asked the Indian girl what all of this was, she replied,
"This place is being prepared for you but it is not yet finished".

At that point I once again began to notice her beauty.
Never had I encountered a "perfect" being like her.
As my thoughts raced, I noticed she had a most angry look on her face.
She quickly jumped up from her sitting position.
I was embarrased with my swift return back to reality and acted like I
had been listening to all she had said.

But there was no fooling her; it was as if she read my mind.
She said she was leaving as I begged her not to go.
She replied, "Your thoughts are not clean and you are not ready."
This is all being prepared for you but now it is not ready".

As she walked away, she said she would be back. That was five years ago.

My dream finally came true.
I met a most remarkable woman.
She has never judged me and never ridiculed me.
She knows all my secrets and inspite of them, she still loves me.
We met on the internet almost two years ago.
I proposed to her and she accepted.

When deciding on a location for our wedding, we both wanted a small, informal ceremony.
Getting married at the court house with a Justice of the Peace was considered,
but neither us were overly excited about that idea.

We discussed possible locations.
I suddenly remembered my soon to be wife once said
that she had always wanted to be married at a local place called
"Funks Grove Temple of the Trees".
It was a rustic, outdoor chapel located within the woods.
Though I'd not yet visited Funks Grove, I reminded her about the location.
Then I told her that we should have our wedding there because it meant so much to her.

The day before the wedding my soon to be wife
took my dad and me to see the layout of the chapel.
As we approached the Temple of the Trees area,
a chill ran down my spine and tears filled my eyes.
I hid the tears because, after all, "grown men aren't suppose to cry".
Taking my wife to be by the arm and pulling her close,
I gasped and said "I can't believe it!"
She inquired as to what I couldn't believe.
I replied, "This is it; this is the place.
The place that was being prepared for me".

I am so happy that my dream finally came through
for now I will no longer be lonely.
